Two Sides of the Same Coin

Have you ever heard the saying, "There are two sides to the same coin?" It means that there are two ways of looking at the same thing, or two different interpretations of something that has occurred. If look at the coin to the right, you'll discover that the front is that of an 1861 $20 gold piece. What would you expect to find on the back? In this case, it is the back of a British £2 coin. Not what you expected, is it?

This is a perfect illustration of what goes on in the world of work. Managers do one thing and employees see it as something else, and vice versa. This monthly newsletter will explore some of these misunderstandings and misperceptions.

I'm looking forward to writing each of these installments, and I hope that you will enjoy reading them.
